Funding from private philanthropy comes mainly from three sources: leadership gifts from individuals and foundations, the Business Partners of The Bay program, and annual campaigns like Friends of The Bay and the Giving Challenge.
In 2022, The Bay doubled the number of donors and donations, raising a total of $4.3 million.

The Bay Ranks #1 in the Giving Challenge
In 2022, The Bay Park Conservancy came in first place in the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Giving Challenge event, winning multiple additional prizes and raising over $370,000.
2022 Friends of The Bay
In 2022, the Friends of The Bay giving campaign reached 456 supporters and raised $452,000 to support the park, totaling 1,760 Friends of The Bay.
102 Founding Business Partners
102 local businesses joined the Founding Business Partners Program - raising over $240K to support free programs and activation for the park.
